Wrestling

Wrestling might be the world's oldest sport. It was a part of the ancient Olympic Games and has been a part of virtually every culture throughout history. Wrestlers are generally considered to be the most highly conditioned athletes in terms of muscular strength, physical endurance, reaction time, and explosive power. Wrestling can be highly challenging both physically and mentally.

Wrestlers are grouped into weight classes. It's not about how big or tall or strong you are. Wrestling allows kids to be great athletes even if they're small or very large.

Individuals that train and compete regularly will gain:

• Cardio Vascular Fitness

• Fundamental Motor Skills

• Cognitive Skills

• Overall Strength

• Flexibility

• Reflexes

• Confidence and Social Skills

• Anxiety/Aggression Management

• Sportsmanship

• Self Defence Capability

Classes are happening now at Parkdale elementary and Birchwood Junior High schools.
